The Global Registry provides two protocols for users or applications to query for SDMX content. All the information in the Global Registry is public so there are no security restrictions on either of these protocols. Both protocols can respond in any version of the SDMX standard.
The Global Registry provides a RESTful Web Service allowing its content to be queried via an HTTP request. This allows users to view SDMX structural content via a Web Browser, and facilitates application-to-application communication.
The Global Registry also provides a SOAP Web Service. The SOAP protocol facilitates application to application communication.
